St Joseph's Primary School - Kangaroo Point - Whole School Curriculum Plan

St Joseph’s Whole School Curriculum Plan is a living document outlining educational practices implemented in curriculum delivery. Aligned with the Alice Springs (Mparntwe) Education Declaration (2019), Australian Curriculum, and Religious Education Curriculum, St Joseph’s Whole School Curriculum Plan provides classroom teachers and educational leaders with a written educational program offered to support equity and excellence in improving educational outcomes for St Joseph’s students.

Effective evidence-based educational practices are outlined throughout the document to support classroom teachers with precision pedagogy in achieving the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (AITSL, 2011). The purpose of the document is to develop collaborative communities of practice across St Joseph’s Primary School, embed consistent pedagogical practices, and enhance collegiality through organisational culture (Fullen & Quinn, 2016; Hargreaves & O’Connell, 2017). Utilised as a framework to embed consistency across St Joseph’s Primary School, the Whole School Curriculum Plan contributes to ensuring classroom teachers and school leaders demonstrate professional knowledge, practice and engagement (Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership, 2019). Engagement in the processes and practices outlined in the document provide continued professional learning centred on improving educational outcomes for students.

Contemporary educational visions on delivery of the Australian Curriculum are highlighted throughout the living document in alignment with evidence-based pedagogical shifts and Brisbane Catholic Education’s systematic practices in curriculum delivery. Qualitative and quantitative data is regularly collated, reflecting on system directions, our school vision, mission, and values, to provide precision pedagogy and focused whole school direction for school leadership to lead learning, teaching, assessing and reporting. As a living document the Whole School Curriculum Plan is regularly updated. Not all information is contained within the document and instead located on St Joseph’s SharePoint School Portal. Modifications are updated regularly with changes reported to all community stakeholders as required via Staff Meetings, School Newsletters and email.

Contextualised practices and processes are highlighted throughout the document. These include:
- Statement of Philosophy and Aims
- St Joseph’s Vision for Learning
